Ever since I was young I’ve had this fascination with communications from two-way radios to broadcasting. I hope to share some of my personal stories that involve scanners, two-way radios, and broadcasting in The Scanner Guys blog. Growing up in the ’80s and 90’s I didn’t have all the cool things kids have nowadays. I did have something pretty cool, my yellow Sony Walkman Sport (FS439) with a digital tune, and who could forget “Mega Bass”. I filled the presets with all the stations in both Boston and Providence radio markets. I learned the call letters, slogans, and which announcers were on what stations.
