Jonathan and Rich, The Scanner Guys will be in the Scanner Master Information Booth (Nr. 3303 in Building 3 the “Marconi” Building). We will be in the booth during specific hours and roaming the fest at other times.

Dayton Hamvention: Not just for hams!
Scanner enthusiasts can have a great time at “Dayton”, even if you aren’t a ham operator. Beyond meeting The Scanner Guys you can find great deals on all kinds of stuff and see some sights you may never see again. Need an antenna? It will be there. Need an oddball connector or cable? Got it. That speaker you wanted for years? Yep, it’s there!
The stuff (and people) you will see at Hamvention is remarkable. From the inside commercial vendors to the thousands of flea market tailgaters in the fields the selection of radios, parts, accessories, and gadgets is immense. All kinds of food and drink are also available and it is an experience that one never forgets. Come to Dayton for the radios, and leave with great memories as well.
The Scanner Guys Roots in Dayton
The Scanner Guys started as an outreach program for Scanner Master during our 2018 trip to the Dayton Hamvention. We were the first to display the then-new SDS100 scanner and posted many videos en route to, at, and returning from the show. We visited Horseshoe Curve and Cresson PA along the way, all along showing the SDS100 and its capabilities.
While at Hamvention we met many of our fans and hundreds of friends came over to see the new scanner, including reps from other manufacturers.
Jonathan, the producer of The Scanner Guys shows as well as the webmaster, is an inside sales specialist for a large company and has worked for Scanner Master as a customer service rep, web designer, and product manager. He has a background in broadcasting as well.
Rich is a retired police officer and firefighter and has also worked at Scanner Master as a customer service rep. He authored the Illinois Communications Guide and several other scanner books for Scanner Master.
Jonathan and Rich are both members of the RadioReference Database Administrators team, the Uniden Beta Testing Team, longtime scanner users, and railfans. They host the popular YouTube shows “The Scanner Guys” and “Train Aficionado” on Wednesday evenings.
